abstract = "In Brazil, some institutions offer free of digital data that make
up a cartography base of the entire national territory. Mauro
Borges Institute (IMB) provides files in shapefile format that
include the cartography based on several topics, including,
municipal limit and drainage in scale of 1/250,000, which may
limit its use depending on the work objectives. This study aims to
quantitatively compare the products generated from the use of
Continuous Cartographic Base of Brazil and other generated from
satellite imagery of high spatial resolution, on the outskirts of
the city of Uruta{\'{\i}}-Goi{\'a}s. To achieve the goal, it
was used the municipal limit provided by IMB and other defined
manually using Google Earth images. These limits were extracted
river enabling mapping Permanent Preservation Areas and comparing
the results superimposed on the satellite image of high spatial
resolution. It was found that on the whole the difference between
the municipal limits was 14,731km where 93% of this total are
located in boundary of the river. This is due to the different
mapping scales. Through the results, we can see that Brazil
Continuous Cartographic Base provides for various sources, vector
features that can be used for various purposes, however, it is
necessary to have parsimony in its use. So, in jobs that require a
more accurate positional is not possible to use the data provided
by institutions such as the IMB, being necessary to map such
features on scales that allow identification details.",
